Join Us Sundays at 10:00 am
FROM THE PASTOR
Sunday, October 2: Celebrating LWML Sunday, our theme is “Living on the Edge”. In Josh.14:10-12 Caleb is ready for new challenges at the age of 80. Often we think there is a time limit on service to God or become burned out because others do not come along side to help. In Matt.21:33-46 Jesus reminds us that we have been given talents to use as long as we live. Others my shrink from service because of the sacrifice required, but in Phil.3:4-14 Paul says that all other gain is loss compared to knowing Christ.
Sunday, October 9: In Jer.15:15-21 we hear the prophet cry out in the midst of evil and God reminding him and us that God always “Overcomes Evil”. In Rom.12:9-21 we read what the marks of a believer are. As we live out our faith god’s power overcomes the evil that seeks to destroy us. Finally in Matt.16:21-28 Jesus reminds us that his resurrection has defeated the evil we face and we need never fear.
Sunday, October 16: “Fired by the Spirit; Led by the Spirit is our theme for the year. From Rom.12:9-21 we will examine our own spiritual walk and compare it to Jesus with the following exercise.
Sunday, October 23: The question the whole world is asking; weather they know it or not is from Mat.19:16-26 “What must I do to inherit eternal life?” The point is not ridding one’s self of all possessions but giving one’s self together with all we have and are to Jesus. Meditation verses include
I Thes.2:1-13 & Lev.19:1-2 & 15-18.
Sunday, October 30: “The Eternal Gospel” spoken of in Rev.14:6-7 is the Gospel we preach and is unchanging. Jesus warned us in Mat.11:12-19 that this Gospel would be under attack. Paul presents this “Eternal Gospel” in Rom.3:19-28
