Nursing Home Sundays have been a blessing to the residents and to us. We provide a Sunday morning worship experience, and this gives us a chance to put our faith into action.
Periodically, we send a group to each of four nursing homes for services on a particular Sunday. Each service is led by one of our elders, where we share devotions, songs, scripture, and prayer.
Whole families get involved, making great memories, and the residents especially love to see the children and infants from Christ.
Wellspring Pregnancy + Health Center, formerly the AAA Pregnancy Resource Center, is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization that has been serving the greater Hastings area since 1989. Wellspring is completely pro-life in all their services offered. Four members of Christ Lutheran Church serve on the board at Wellspring and are extremely instrumental in the live-saving work occurring at the center.
We host a Living Nativity experience for our community in December. You’ll experience a stroll through the busy market in the streets of Bethlehem. Along the way, you’ll taste the food, hear the sounds, smell the smells, and see life as it was in the first century. You will learn about the political and social customs and the historical events that surrounded the birth of Christ.
At the Inn, you, too, will find no room, and travel outside of the city to warm by the fire with some lowly shepherds. You will become part of the story as the angels announce the wonderful news of the birth of the Messiah. With the shepherds, you will go and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.
At the stable, you’ll join live animals to witness God incarnate. Following the experience you are invited to warm up with snacks in the Church and to view the many nativity scenes on display.
